Leonie Samuels, affectionately known as "Miss. Kitty" was a Wife, Mom of 8, grandmother of 50, great-grandmother of 8, and friend of many...
Originally from Hopewell (Hanover Parish), Jamaica, she later relocated to Greenpond (St. James Parish), Jamaica and reside with her husband Carlton Ford, and over time...their children. Children, grown and gone off to begin their own lives, yet also young children still at home, Leonie came to Canada to be with family, while starting her own new start here in Canada. She worked hard to provide for herself, while still ensuring everything was taken care of back home in Jamaica.
Over time, her children came to join her here in Canada. This made her the most happiest, as she was very much a family person. Even though Carlton decided to remain at their home in Jamaica, they made their everlasting long distance marriage work with plenty of travel.
After tragically losing a son in 2011, Miss. Kitty with the constant love of her family continued on even though a piece of her heart was shattered.
In June 2017, it was determined that Miss. Kitty was suffering from that all too common "C" word. The devil, invading another life...After a very very brief battle she was granted her wings on July 13, 2017 surrounded by family in hospital.
This cache has been placed in memory of Miss. Kitty, who is the grandmother of: Goalie cub, princess diva cub, and their cousin (mini) sprinklerainbow.
***When we received the call of her passing, the cubs and I, along with 2 other EEH were out caching trying to complete the Kawartha's Canada 150 series, and were just arriving to "The Brush Factory". We decided to make our way back to Toronto after that.***
Although at present time, her marker hasn't been placed, Miss. Kitty rests only a few metres from GZ.
Please take care when retrieving and replacing this cache. BYOP
