Geocache Description:

This is a multi cache placed at Chester Frost Park by Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Dept. This series features spots in the park with historical reference and scenic views. All caches are smaller boxes ; with logs and include FTF items. The first cache is located near a stucture which was built in 1986 by CCA and is a popular photo spot. The others are on Bailey and Old Dallas islands. Dallas Bay is now part of the area that was once the site of the first permanent county seat of Hamilton County. Old Dallas occupied a reservation made by Fox Taylor, a Cherokee, under the treaty of 1819. The town of Dallas was laid out and a post office established there in 1822. It was named for Alexander J. Dallas, and remained the seat of Hamilton County until 1840 when it was moved to Harrison. The island is what is left of the settlement after the area was flooded when TVA built the series of dams along the Tennessee river. Enjoy the hunt and watch out for muggles.
