The original Rusty Relics nearby had to be archived because it didn't comply with Santa Clara County Parks guidelines for geocache placement. It was too far off the trail and too close to some sensitive terrain around a spring. If you look up the hill from the present cache location, you can see where it was, above the "rusty relics" up there. The new cache location is much closer to the trail and well away from the spring. You're looking for a small camo'd container within 20' of the trail on the uphill side.
[From the original cache description] This cache is along the newly opened Lisa Killough trail in Calero County Park. There's some interesting old rusty water equipment here. The ground is so wet that there might be a spring nearby that would explain the water troughs. It'll be interesting to see if there's still water here in the summer.
You don't need to go near the spring or the water equipment to find the cache.
The closest access is from the Rancho San Vicente parking lot. Park hours are 8:00am to sunset. Trail hours are sunrise to sunset. Keep your eyes out for cow pies, and happy hunting!
Thank you to WERDAVE for the relocation assistance!
Congrats to andersca and erzaca for the Redux FTF!
