The Lasurny swimming pool is one of well-known symbols of the abandoned town of Pripyat. It included a basketball court and two pools, one was large and deep for adults (25 meters long, and 5 meters deep) and another was small and shallow for kids. All population of Pripyat was evacuated at the end of April in 1986, but the Lasurny swimming pool was in use till 1998. Living in Pripyat the ChNPP workers had been visiting it for 12 years after the accident, it was a recreation area for them.This swimming pool wasn’t a single one in the town and the second pool, intended for sport training, was located at the Palaces of Culture Energetik. Another small one existed at the children’s polyclinic of Pripyat, and its main purpose was to make kids healthier. Now the Lasurny swimming pool amazes us by its emptiness and scale.

Басейн «Лазурний» являється одним з найвідоміших символів Прип’яті. Він також включає в себе баскетбольний майданчик та два басейни, один з яких глибший для дорослих (25 метрів завдовжки та 5 метрів глибиною) та маленький, для дітей. Усе населення Прип’яті було евакуйоване наприкінці квітня 1986 року, але басейн Лазурний використовувався аж до 1998 року. Проживаючі у Прип’яті працівники ЧАЕС мали змогу відвідувати басейн протягом 12 років з моменту трагедії. Цей басейн був не єдиним у місті. Інший басейн, призначений для спортивних тренувань, знаходився у Палаці Культури «Енергетик». Ще один маленький басейн знаходився у дитячій поліклініці Прип'яті для оздоровлення дітей. Тепер басейн «Лазурний» вражає своїми розмірами та спустошеністю.
