The Cheese Series has made a reappearance for SCAR XI with some well-known and some more obscure varieties. Next year we might have to match some good vino with all this yummy cheese.
Velveeta is another surprise entry in The Oxford Companion to Cheese. According to the Companion, it is “a highly visible processed American cheese product, packaged and sold as a rectangular sized loaf tucked inside an iconic, yellow cardboard box. Standing as an American brand for nearly a century, Velveeta is perhaps best known as ‘liquid gold’ for its unusual melting properties.”
