[RO] Este unul din cele şapte cimitire din oraş şi printre cele mai vechi¸ înfiinţat după colonizarea cu germani şvabi, începută în anul 1752, aceştia fiind aduşi în trei etape, peste 145 de familii şi care au format Comuna Germană. Aceasta avea o suprafaţă de 5-6 km2 şi o populaţie de peste 1.500 de locuitori. Prima stradă colonizată a fost str. ALTGASSE (astăzi 16 decembrie 1989), iar pe strada. SAUERLANDERGASSE (astăzi str. Nufărului) lua fiinţă o biserica romano–catolică (astăzi grădiniţa maghiară), o şcoală confesională şi primăria.
În acest cimitir îşi dorm somnul de veci şi un număr de 18 militari germani, morţi la data de 3 octombrie 1944, în luptele din al doilea război mondial, dar şi Bela Bartok (decedat la data de 4 august 1888), fost director de şcoală, tatăl marelui compozitor cu acelaşi nume. În cimitir se găsesc cruci de piatră vechi de la sfârşitul anilor 1700, începutul anilor 1800, o capelă şi un mausoleu vechi. Totodată, foarte interesantă este aleea centrală, cu monumente vechi din piatră, care formează Calea Crucii.
[EN] It is one of the seven cemeteries in the city and among the oldest settlements after colonization with the Swabian Germans, which began in 1752, being brought in three stages, over 145 families and forming the German Commune (village). It has an area of 5-6 km2 and a population of over 1,500 inhabitants. The first colonized street was ALTGASSE (today, 16 December 1989), and on the street SAUERLANDERGASSE (today Nufărului Street) was founded a Roman Catholic Church (today the Hungarian kindergarten), a confessional school and the town hall.
In this cemetery, are buried a number of 18 German soldiers, dead on October 3, 1944, in the battles of the Second World War and Bela Bartok (dead on August 4, 1888), former school principal, father of the great composer of the same name. Also, in the cemetery are old stone crosses from the end of the 1700s, early 1800s, a chapel and an old mausoleum. Very interesting is the central alley, with ancient stone monuments forming the Way of the Cross.
