Geocache Description:

Welcome to OSU Lima’s Campus. I have permission from campus security, the biology department, and the maintence department to place these caches. I have added parking coordinates (Parking Lot C), and start of the trail coordinates. During certain times of the year (August - April) the muggle traffic will be high during the week (7am-8pm), but once you are on the trails, I can guarantee you will not have much of a problem with that. Some of these caches have room for tradeables. These trails tend to be muddy even in dry weather. Please be respectful of the area, and no night caching. BYOP TIME FOR THE CACHE: As you near the final location, you may notice that there in fact is no pond near the cache, but due to another cache, this is where it is located. Before nearing the cache, you will notice a pond on the right side of the trail. This is what OSU Lima calls the “Frog Pond” because of all the frogs that are around. The history of this pond is actually a man made drinking hole for livestock back in the 1800s, when this campus used to be farmland. As you walk a little further, you will notice a GIANT tree. This tree is another clue to this once being a wide open field. This tree had a great amount of space to flourish, unlike many of the newer, closer standing trees that make up the woods today. The cache is located a little ways off the trail, but can be found easily if you like looking at an up rooted tree. Congrats to mattyice85 for FTF
