Welcome to Wood Street, Walthamstow. Nobody could pretend this street was glamourous or gentrified, but it is honest, friendly and full of the sort of independent businesses that are actually useful. Plus a Viking supply shop, obviously! It is also home to much of E17's burgeoning collection of street art, some of which you will pass on this short stroll from the station towards Forest Road.

This is a four stage multi that should take you no longer than 20 minutes.
Stage 1 - Wood Street Altarpiece
As you leave the station, you will see that the underbridge has been brightened up by the "Wood Street Altarpiece" - a triptych designed by artist Eleanor Hill in collaboration with local residents. Amongst the scenes of local life it depicts, the central panel mentions the Wood Street South Gardening Club. How many spring bulbs did it plant in the pouring rain in October? This will give you the value for A.
Stage 2 - Wood Street Indoor Market
This building was formerly the Crown Cinema between 1912 and 1955, but is now an indoor market with lots of small antiques, clothing and artisanal shops. To obtain the value for B, count the number of letters in the top word of the clock face above the entrance to the market.
Stage 3 - Jones's Butcher's Shop
This is a wonderful example of a surviving timber butcher's shop, set beneath the shade of chestnut trees, and is a Grade II listed building. It's now an organic food shop. Look at the blue plaque. The shop was established by the Jones family in 17CD.
Stage 4 - Rock Against Racism
Here is a long standing wall mural - Rock Against Racism. The number on the right hand doorway within the mural (two digits before an "A") is EF.

The final cache location will take you back towards the station.
