Bud Abbott (William Alexander Abbott)
The stoic straightman of legendary comedic duo Abbott and Costello. Growing up, I would watch two particular outings of theirs repeatedly: Hold That Ghost (1941) and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948).
These were taped on VHS and provided endless enjoyment, laughter and terror (Hold That Ghost has some legitimately terrifying moments even for a film that is now 77 years old and especially when I was watching it as a ten year old ;D).
Abbott was always irked by Costello's shenanigans and tried his best keep Costello in line, to very little success. His looks of exasperation spoke volumes and created plentiful laughter for the audience. His rebuttals to Costello's grievances never failed to make Costello more exuberant and outrageous.
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein is the real Van Helsing...forget all that CGI from 2004...in 1948, you had Lon Chaney Jr as the Wolfman and Bela Lugosi as Dracula with Frankenstein's Monster (unfortunately no Boris Karloff for this outing) all sparring with Abbott and Costello in a tour de force.
The cache is located on the edge of Epping Park. I was really hoping to place a tree climb cache in the area but the high volume of muggles just made it impractical. GZ is still a tree but your feet need not leave ground; however, shorter cachers may require a TOTT to fetch and replace the cache. Beware the muggles but have a blast as this is a great park. Cache contains log only, please BYO pen. Enjoy and L'chaim!
