La Cascada de El Limon, wie der Wasserfall von El Limon auf Spanisch heißt wird in vielen Reiseführern als eine der größten Natur-Attraktionen der Halbinsel Samanás bezeichnet. Umgeben von tropischem Regenwald liegt der Wasserfall von El Limon idyllisch in der Nähe von El Limon, das ihm seinen Namen gegeben hat. Genaugenommen handelt es sich um zwei Wasserfälle. Einen kleinen und einen etwa 55 Meter hohen äußerst impossanten Wasserfall.
Am Fuße des Wasserfalls gibt es einen kleinen See, der sich für ein erfrischendes Bad anbietet. Der Wasserfall kann von mehreren Orten, die an der Straße von El Limon nach Samana liegen erreicht werden.
Einer der gängigsten Ausgangspunkte zur Cascada liegt in El Limon selbst. Im Ortszentrum zweigt eine große Straße von der Hauptstraße in Richtung Santa Barbara de Samaná ab. Etwa 20 Meter von der Kreuzung entfernt befindet sich Santi Rancho. Von hier aus organisiert der Spanier Santi Ausflüge zum Wasserfall von El Limon. Nehmen Sie sich etwas Zeit und essen Sie nach der Rückkehr vom Wasserfall im Restaurant von Santi. Hier können sie äußerst gut typisch dominikanisch essen.
Normalerweise reitet man auf dem Weg zum Wasserfall bis zu einem Rastplatz und geht die letzten 15-20 Minuten zu Fuß. Bei organisierten Touren wird normalerweise jeder Tourist von einem Einheimischen begleitet. Je nach Ausgangspunkt der Tour dauert der Weg bis zum Wasserfall ca. 1 Stunde. Statt mit dem Pferd kann man den Weg auch zu Fuß zurücklegen. Man sollte allerdings darauf achten, dass es in den Tagen vor dem Ausflug nicht stark geregnet hat. Ansonsten wird der Fußweg zu einer gefährlichen Rutschpartie.
