Note: GPS moves around a bit in this area. Best to just look for the big lighthouse, you can't miss it:). The Straits Quay Lighthouse is a beautiful structure in the Straits Quay Marina. Parking is readily available at the Straits Quay Mall. This is a small mall with many nice shops and lots of good restaurants. Stop off to eat or have a coffee at one of the many restaurants along the boardwalk. Inside the lighthouse is the E & O Visitor Center. The visitor center is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm. Admission is free, go on in and take a look. The ground floor shows the history of Penang and E & O development. The 1st floor shows the future of the Straits Quay area including images of what the future island and land reclaimation over by Gurney Drive are visualized to look like. It is great to see what a beautiful place they are trying to create. You do not have to go inside the lighthouse to find the cache. It is right around the outside, near the ground. Cache is large enough to hold travel bugs. Watch for muggles! Enjoy!
