Come along and give a bit of a tidy up Coronation Park.
Thursday 31st May 2018
10 - 11.15am
The listed coordinates are for the gates at the entrance to Coronation Park on Gorof Road. Follow the track up the hill to find the log book and collect litter picking equipment. Look for the Brecknock Wildlife Trust gazebo.
The aim is to litter pick Coronation Park to thank Ystradgynlais Town Council for allowing geocaches and events here and show that geocachers are a responsible lot. I will provide bin bags, litter pickers and gloves but bring your own if you prefer.
Health and Safety: Do not pick up anything that is large or sharp or cause risk to yourself. Make a note of any large or sharp items and I will let the Town Council know to collect them at a later date. All children must be supervised and dogs kept under control.
Coronation Park was donated to the town by the Gough family, to commemorate the Coronation of King George V in 1911
Parking: While there is a limited amount of parking on Gorof Road the coordinates I have listed are on the Ystradgynlais side of the A4067. I kindly ask you to park on the town side so that the Gorof Road side can be available for the newbies coming for the second event through the Brecknock Wildlife Trust advertising which won't be able to include the coordinates for alternative parking. To cross the A 4067 use the footbridge at the end of Llys Tawel. Footbridge coordinates listed as a waypoint.
This event is linked to the 2 events in 1 day – Meet the Newbies (GC7PFYJ) social event so needed to list different coordinates for them to show separately on Geocaching.com. See that listing for details and I hope you will be able to stay for that too. There will be some new geocaches released on the day.
