WWFM 2018
What is the WWFM? World Wide Flash Mobs – A fun and friendly way to promote geocaching around the world. Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events spanning the globe, gather at the same time.
Since love2sing41 and PrairieRose78 will be attending our 40th Class reunion the same weekend as WWFM XV, we thought it would be fun to bring our favorite sport to our alma mater. Will any of our classmates, or those from previous years, join us? And who else might show up?
One thing that none of us in the class years attending this summer event ever did on campus was dance. Houghton College now has its own Ballroom & Swing Club, but when we were there, things were much more STRICT.
So what better way to celebrate the weekend than to dance?! And so we can really feel wild and crazy, let’s do it on the steps of the Luckey Memorial Building (since that’s where we would have been brought to have a talk with the Dean if we’d done this back in the day). Just to make it more fun, try to bring your favorite dancin’ tune (Boom box? iPod? Transistor radio?) and something to put on that you might have worn the year you graduated from college.
Program:
- 1:00 PM Don your disco garb, or your love beads, or your letter sweater, and head for the step at Luckey Memorial Building facing the quad.
- 1:01 PM Sign the log, trade/discover travel bugs and coins, and say hello to your fellow cachers. In the spirit of the event in years past, chocolate Kisses for the “group meal” will be provided.
- 1:15 PM Group photo
- 1:20 PM Dance party!!! Everybody start your tunes all at once and let loose! (Footloose? :^)
- 1:30 PM The event is over and we suddenly disappear
Event Notes:
- IMPORTANT: Coordinates are for Rothenbuhler Hall, where some parking is available. Proceed northeast to the Luckey Memorial Building on the north side of the campus quad.
- Campus parking may be at a premium because of the Summer Alumni weekend, but it would be possible to park downtown and walk up the hill. (See Additional Waypoints for exact location)
- There will be a spot for Travel Bug exchange.
