Geocache Description:

Cochran Mill Park still Remains one of those great places to go Geocaching in the area.

Over the last year I've been out here hiking six or eight times. Mostly with RhodoRooter as he tried to finish doing the ones in the park. But probably also because I bought an annual pass. LOL. On these hikes I discovered that there are a lot of new trails and even some bridges! When Dave was ready to do GC175X0  TMTM - CMP, I went with him to do cache maintenance since Kb10bo and I adopted this one. Once there I was reading in the log book how the first three 3 finders were so merry and happy to be out in this Great Park hiking and finding geocaches that I thought it would be a good idea to try to get people to revisit the park.

So I decided to hide a new cache and put some information in some old log books that people would need to find in order to find the new one. The only problem was I had not yet decided on a location and didn't have any coordinates to put in there. But I came up with a method for getting the information in the log book to be able to be used at a later time.

Don't worry, on MERRIER STILL you're only going to have to find information in 2 log books. In the log book for TMTM-CMP, you are going to find the information for the North coordinates. Use the table you find to plug in below.

N II IA.DCG

Next you will have to find the final for GC1NFW0  Sherlock Holmes. Rhodorooter fixed the first stage of this one so it is findable from scratch. This Code table is different than the other one. Use this one to plug the information for the West coordinates into the following:

W GDB BH.CJC

The coordinates of the final location jumped around a lot. I took six different readings and they were off by up to 40 feet. But if you've cached in Cochran Mill Park, you're fully aware of that issue. Once you find the right spot I think you'll probably know where the cache is, although it's probably not in the first spot you're going to look.

Good luck. Enjoy the new trails. Remember the idea is to get people out there hiking in the park again. I'll get a first to find prize to the first to find at one of the area meet and greets or send it in the mail if they live further away.

Congratulations to FIRST TO FIND: Southernflip and Jazzmasters
