Phillip Hughes Bridge Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Balayang: As there's been no cache to find for a long time, and it appears to have been abandoned, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed outside the Council Depot and to acknowledge the new Philip Hughes Bridge over the Nambucca River.

For those who don't know Phillip Hughes was a Macksville Local and an Australian Test Cricketer who was struck in the neck by cricket ball whilst playing in a Sheffield Shield State Cricket Game for South Austraila, he subsequently died from his injuries 3 days later in late November 2014.

This bridge can be seen and heard from the old river crossing. Across the river on the right hand bank of Newee Creek you might be able to pick uot a structure, this was one of the punt control boxes foundations for the original River punt which was in operation in the late 1880's.

Cache is a green bison tube
