St Andrew Church

Building of the church started in October 1907 and was complete by October 1908 after which a grand consecration ceremony took place with the Bishop of Osaka, Japan deputising for the Bishop of Winchester. The church was built on land donated by Lady Shelley, wife of Sir Percy Florence Shelley (son of the famous poet) and replaced an iron church.
