This spot along the towpath of the Enlarged Erie Canal (1845-1916) and on the eastern bank of the Schoharie Creek, meant you were near Lock 30 and the Browns Cash Store. Lock 30 was a hub of activity as it lifted barges on or lowered off the elevation needed to cross the splendid 624 ft. 14 arch aqueduct that put the canal over the ancient Schoharie Creek. Check out the interpretive panels nearby.
Although the Cash Store is long gone, I imagine a log cabin could have been right here for the family to live in. From the cabin you can see so much, animals large and small and this creature called a Geocacher! All are welcome.
Please place as found and do not post pictures that could spoil the adventure for others.
