Mary Celeste was built in Spencer's Island, Nova Scotia in 1861. She was discovered deserted in the Atlantic Ocean in December 1872. Her lifeboat was missing, her cargo was intact and the crew's belongings undisturbed. No one who was on board the Mary Celeste has ever been heard from again.
