The first Half Marathon I ever did was here in Brooklyn, and I remember this intersection as the point I realized I could actually make it the full 13.1 miles, so as nondescript as this spot is it’s still something memorable to me, ha. The finish line was on the boardwalk and at this point all my worries about finishing evaporated; ‘less than a mile to go? Fuhgeddaboudit, twelve miles down, what’s one more?’ 😅
