Geocache Description:

In 2015 we held a family reunion for my moms side of the clan..........I had placed caches to honour all 13 children and their parents-my maternal grandparents-but disabled it a while ago due to the location being a bit waterlogged..

This is the replacement for MOM's CACHE.....I will update this description when I am back home with my PC and better internet connection.

UPDATE-THE ORIGINAL CACHE DESCRIPTION-A very special hide in my series of FAMILY TRIBUTE caches in and around the Carrot River and Petaigan District where my mom(Julia) and her family homesteaded in the 1930s. Julia Ruth, aka 'mom' , was born August 8, 1928 in Disley. She was part of the family unit that moved to the Petaigan District in 1931 where she received her schooling. Mom worked many different jobs over the course of her working life, including jobs on different farms, housekeeping work in Aylsham, the Boys Pavilion of the Orange Benevolent Home in Indian Head, at Custom Tailors in Melfort and also King's Dry Cleaners in CR. She married on August 16, 1951 and raised a family of seven children( I guess I can say AWESOME children, right?) After most of the kids were on their own or in post-secondary school away from CR, Mom began working at the Outpatient Home in Carrot River. Only 3 of us were still in school at this time, me and my two younger siblings. Mom later worked for Home Care Services and also did 'Guard Duty' with the RCMP for many years. She is supposed to be retired but she never really stops working it seems and when she isn't, she thinks she should be! She is a great mom and is a great caregiver to a variety of house pets and farm animals-the bottle baby calves that appear yearly as well as having raised chickens and turkeys for decades, and of course, she loves all animals, particularly horses and definitely has a soft spot for the 'real' freddy cougar, my elderly orange tabby as well as lovely calico cats that seem to find their way to her farm on a regular basis! Mom loves watching the BlueJays on TV, reading, crosswords and has a wide variety of other interests to keep her young! She turned 87 years young on Aug 8, the second day of our Family Reunion! THIS IS A REPLACEMENT CACHE-THE ORIGINAL, PLACED IN JULY PRIOR TO OUR AUGUST 2015 FAMILY REUNION, GOT TAKEN OUT BY A SWATHER AND SINCE THEN, FOR SOME STRANGE REASON, NEW POWER POLES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ALL DOWN THE FENCE AND TREE LINE WHERE I HAD HIDDEN THE ORIGINAL. MAY 2018-THIS IS THE 3RD INCARNATION OF THIS CACHE.....!

You are seeking a micro cache in a rural area along what we call THE DITCHBANK ROAD....not much of a road if it is wet or snowy but we used to use it as an alternate route on occasion and it was a great place to ride horseback.

BYOP

Do not remove the cache from the host, simply undo the bottom to access the log

Congratulations to 3PollyC for being FTF on this cache and the other one published tonight-it's appropriate that R got there first since we do 'share' a mom.......
