Across 12 mile from this cache location through the newer neighborhood you may be able to see the smoke stack of the old Wellington Elementary School. The school is not in use anymore and the newer neighborhood you see was built on the play fields for the school. I've tried to find an old picture of the school when it was in use but was not able to. There is only one school left in Roseville that still has the old smoke stack. The smoke stack was used to heat the boilers by burning the garbage of the school along with coal. When I went to school in the 70's they boilers were still in use. Every day one lucky kid from each class got to bring the garbage bag to the boiler room where the janitor worked, If you were real luck and he thought you were strong enough he would open the fire doors and let you throw the bag into the fire.
