Young Sebastian, whom you might have met whilst venting your frustration, had a birthday recently.
Family and friends gathered at his party to help him celebrate his special day. Being a good-mannered, well-liked and popular young man, doting relatives and good school friends were very generous (some may say 'indulgent') with the presents they gave him.
Amongst the gifts he received were:
- A brand new mountain bike - from his mum and dad
- Cinema vouchers - from his friend Josh
- A board game - from his aunt Fiona
- A Sharpfire Nerf gun - from his best friend Kieran
- Skateboard - from brother Tarquin
- Some books - from an aunt he barely knew
- A drone - from his grandad
- A science kit - from his friend Lucy
- Drawing set - from his friend Summer
- A sweater - from his grandma
Happy though he was (and should be too) with this haul of presents, a nagging regret hung over Sebastian as he did not receive his favourite sort of present - the sort he really wanted. On top of this disappointment was the fact that his favourite uncle was not able to come to his party.
You see, Seb's uncle, a fervent geocacher, had taken himself off on a round New Zealand geocaching trip and, despite his best efforts, had been delayed somewhere south of Wakefield looking for a bison tube in a tree.
After the party had ended, feeling miserable (and probably suffering from a post sugar-rush crash), Seb sat down to look through his birthday cards. In the stack, he found an unopened card.
Tearing open the envelope and looking inside he found the card was from his beloved uncle.
As well as the usual greeting and best wishes his uncle included a note which promised that, despite being unable to come to the party, he had left a present hidden somewhere for Seb to find.
In addition to the message in the card, his uncle Emerson had written what looked like the instructions for how to find where this present had been hidden.
Now Sebastian loved his uncle dearly but, having only just solved a recent easy peasy geocaching puzzle, he wondered why his uncle couldn't just post the present to him like most normal people?
The numbers looked familiar to Sebastian yet, despite a somewhat encyclopaedic knowledge of toys - particularly his favourite type of toy - he reached for his laptop and started to Google…
Can you help Seb track down his missing present?
Once you think you might have sorted out what's what, ensure you've pieced the solution together correctly, then grab Sebastian, or another child, or child-like person of your choosing†, and head off to find the present
† NB. The use of children is entirely optional for the finding of this cache, but may come in useful for the solving...maybe
