This cache is a micro container, camouflaged to blend in on the edge of a nice park in East Van. Please use stealth when retrieving and replacing this cache.
Once known as False Creek Park, Strathcona park is built on the site of a city dump that closed in 1939. It was renamed in 1976 when a greenway linking it to MacLean Park to the north of this geocache was created along Hawks Avenue. Whenever I visit the park, I find it being enjoyed by many different people from the surrounding neighbourhoods. I've seen a couple playing catch in the baseball field, parents taking their children to the playground, someone napping in the grass on a hot day, a photographer capturing bald eagles in the taller trees, joggers exercising on the trails and the track, and dog owners walking their pets.
I've wanted to make a cache of this style since I started geocaching, and so far I've only found one other local cacher who does, so this is a nod to that cacher ;)
