Mardle at The Mardle 7
Welcome to a small series taking you on a walk through Ilketshall St Andrew, starting at The Mardle. The route is about 3km and should take no longer than 1 1/2 hours. Note - there is a section which takes in a farmer's field with cows between numbers 4 and 5 - Care is required!
A Mardle is a traditional pond or gathering place with which to talk and rest. It is also the name given to the monthly Geocaching meets for Norfolk and Suffolk. Placed to coincide with the annual camping Mardle event in nearby Brampton.
From this one you continue down the tree lined road to the corner, then continue in a straight line on a footpath. This was a planted field, please respect the country code and don't trample the crops, there are some farm vehicle tracks devoid of crop to use.
