Mardle at The Mardle 7
Welcome to a small series taking you on a walk through Ilketshall St Andrew, starting at The Mardle. The route is about 3km and should take no longer than 1 1/2 hours. Note - there is a section which takes in a farmer's field with cows between numbers 4 and 5 - Care is required!
A Mardle is a traditional pond or gathering place with which to talk and rest. It is also the name given to the monthly Geocaching meets for Norfolk and Suffolk. Placed to coincide with the annual camping Mardle event in nearby Brampton.
From here the path is across a meadow field, then another large planted field, please respect the country code and don't trample the crops, there are some farm vehicle tracks devoid of crop to use. Once over the field there is a footpath sign directing you through what appears a private garden to the road.
