Geocache Description:

SEARCH (South East Alberta Region Cache Hunters) is a registered non-profit Geocaching Club in SE Alberta, ran by volunteers. Goal: To make Medicine Hat the top Alberta destination for Geocaching. To get family involvement, physical activity, friendship in our outdoor sport & CITO (Cache In Trash Out). Promote Geocaching within our community, by providing events, quality caches & opportunities to learn about Geocaching!

Details are subject to change, but date of event is firm.

CARMH IX event starts on Saturday, Aug. 18th @ 5:00 PM (and ends @ 7PM), at Lions Park in Redcliff. Be aware that we will be having a PICNIC for this event and no food will be supplied, so please plan accordingly and remember to bring your lawn chairs! Parking coordinates are provided.

Lions Park has a water park for the kids, or even the adults! Something for everyone!

Voting sheets will be left at every event so you can grab one per cache name, or cache team. If you don't have a voting sheet you cannot vote for your favorite, so be sure to pick one up!

Picnic -This year we are trying something new! We have decided to have a picnic style meal. Bring your own food and drinks and sit around and enjoy the company of other Geocachers./p>

Finding – Caches for the CARMH 9 event will be published Thursday, Aug. 16th so cachers can plan their route. You must not search out any caches until after 7:00 PM, Friday, Aug. 17th. You will have till the CARMH 9 event to find as many caches as you like.

Voting – Prizes will be given for the best in each category so please bring your voting sheets with you to the CARMH 9 event. Redcliff Lions Park, 3rd Ave and 6th St SE, Saturday evening, Aug. 18th at 5:00 PM

Best Overall Cache- This will be determined by the number of "Favourite" points each of the caches gets. So please, if you like a cache, please "Favourite" it when you log. The prizes for the various catagories of caches and the Best Overall will be awarded at the wrap up CITO event on Sunday.

Hiding – Please note that ANYONE is welcome to place a cache for this event! Make your hides as usual. Submitting them on line early will assure you a better chance of getting that spot. You can copy and paste this section into your description for your caches:
"This cache has been placed for the CARMH 9 event with the intention that it not be located prior to 7 PM, Friday, Aug. 17th. The caches for the CARMH 9 event are released early so that the geocaching community has an opportunity to plan their routes prior to the event start."

In the Note to Reviewer section of the hiding a cache page, please state that the cache is to be held until the CARMH 9 event. When picking a name for your cache be sure to add S9: in front of the caches name with no space after the colon. Example would be ........(S9:mycache)

The deadline for you to get your caches in place and submitted is Tuesday, Aug 7.

Please help us make this easier on the volunteers who approve these caches, by posting your caches as early as possible since there are many for them to approve for this event. No cache submissions will be accepted for SAW IX after August 7.

Please register your SAW IX caches with DSK11 by emailing your cache info (Subject: SAW9Caches). We need your geocaching name, the name of the cache hidden and the GC code. Please email this info as soon as your caches are approved and in queue to ensure they are added to the voting sheet in the booklet. No caches will be added to the booklet/voting sheet after August 7. Please format it as: GC123XYZ - mycache

For those from out of town there are a few choices for campgrounds and hotels. Please check out our web page www.searchmh.com under events for an easy reference.
