Intro : This Cache (GCN0Y2) was Archived due to an Ice storm in Late 2010 - Early 2011. Due to helpful trail bikers the area is easily accessible now. I contacted B & J and was told I could attempt to get this Unarchived or Relist it for others to enjoy.
-------Original Description-------
A nice walk along an old logging road. This is on a typical logging road so for the drive in an SUV is more comfortable. In the West hills of Hood River off of Post Canyon.
This cache presents you with a great view of the columbia and the vineyards in the Underwood area. It also has a nice view of Adams and Rainier if the weather is good. You can see 3 train tunnels on the Washington side. This is on typical logging roads so an SUV is advised. We suggest parking at N45 40.207, W121 38.500 and walking from there. It is about 0.9 miles. Dog and children friendly. If you have a high clearance 4x4 you can drive to the end of the road which gets you to about 0.3 miles of the cache. About 2100 feet elevation. Cache is a typical 50mm ammo can.
-------Modifications-------
I approached this cache from the trail intersection at N 45° 40.944 W 121° 37.605 and was able to drive to within 3000 ft of the cache, before the road deteriorated and was blocked by fallen boulders. The views have been obscured by tree growth over the last several years, it's still and enjoyable if heart pounding workout to get there.
*** Congratulations to Flowerbug and Travel sister for the FTF after relisting.***
