This cache is placed on the road in to Lake Somerset Holiday Park and the Day Use area on Lake Somerset. Once you have found and logged the cache make sure you continue on to the Day Use area (turn left once passed the Holiday Park Office) to check out the lovely lake views.
During weekends and Public Holidays the Park gets crowded with muggles so stealth will be required as even though the cache is a long way from the Parks entrance the road will be busy. There is off road parking not far from cache but watch your children.
Lake Somerset is part of the South East Queensland interconnected bulk water supply network that supplies the regions drinking water. Construction of Somerset Dam began in 1935 but was suspended due to World War !!. Work resumed in 1948 and the dam was completed in 1959.
