The West End Warriors (WEWs) hold The Headlands and nearby Carmel College dear to their hearts; all members of the WEWs were lucky enough to be educated at this college!
About the Area
The Headlands is the road leading up to the nearby Carmel College. Carmel College was formed in September 1974 as the result of the amalgamation of two Catholic secondary schools. These were St Mary's Boys' Secondary School and the Immaculate Conception Secondary School for Girls. The site belonged originally to the Pease family, a well-known Darlington Quaker family, who made their fortune in railways. Their country house, which now forms part of the administration area of the college, dates back to 1864 and is renowned for its ghost, Harriet, who has scared many a teacher over the years and is much talked about by the younger pupils!
About the Cache
This should be a quick cache and dash. Parking is readily available on the roadside and this is accessible any hour of the day. The logbook is quite small and you will require a tool to extract it! Please bring a pen!
