The cache, a small sample pot (smaller than a film tub), is situated in the kissing gate on the NE side of the West Somerset Railway. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE GATE TO ACCESS THE CACHE. A natural tool (many of which are readily found nearby) may help access the cache. This is an excellent viewpoint to see the trains on the WSR, some of which are steam trains, which run from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead. Waving is optional. Behind, you have a good view of the Quantock Hills and to the east you should be able to see the tower of the village church which is well worth a visit.
The easiest approach to the cache is along the footpath from the A358 Taunton to Minehead road. There is parking for a couple of cars just over the road opposite the gates to the Cedar Falls Health Farm at N 51˚ 03.830 W 003˚11.714 or alternatively, there is plenty of parking in the village or at the West Somerset Railway station just off the A358 which is well worth a visit and can be incorporated into the walk. Please take care with dogs or children when crossing the road. This cache may be combined with the Whisky Trail cache which can be found by carefully crossing the railway after reading the warning signs and following the obvious public footpath. WARNING, this path can be muddy after rain and during the winter months so wellies or walking boots are advised.
If you carry on after that cache it brings you out on to a drive and if you turn left and left again at the road it will bring you to Bishops Lydeard Railway Station. From there it is a short walk back into the village where refreshments are available and a few more caches on your route back to your car after a pleasant stroll.
