We'd been searching for this elusive cabin for some time, checking all the lakes up here without result. One day, while viewing the satellite shots, we noticed a couple of suspicious white spots on one corner of this lake, and the game was afoot! Naturally, we couldn't just drive up East Main, cut across Alligator Main, and then Jeep down the road right to it from the East, we had to find an alternate route from the West. After a few failed attempts that usually finished with us peering wistfully down sheer drops, we came up an old logging spur that wasn't on OSM (it is now) passing very close to the western shore. After getting to the end of the road, it was a bushwhack all right, but not really so bad, and we were rewarded handsomely as we reached the lake and saw our quarry just across the water. After another bit of bushwhacking, we emerged at the cabin just before two trail bikers came zipping down the road, a little startled by our sudden appearance.
You have two ways to get here: you can either drive (4x4 please) all the way to the Eastern approach, or you can follow in our footsteps from the West. If you choose the more difficult (but eminently satisfying) route, we would strongly recommend circling around the northern end of the lake rather than the southern. This way will also coincidentally take you right past the "Nyland Island" cache. 
Although the southern route ups the terrain rating to a 4, the northern route is a 4.5 but shorter. The off road GPS track portions are available on request.
