Until recently, Woodmancote had 2 village halls, known as 'the old hall' built in 1923 and 'new village hall' which was built on the recreation grounds in 1968. Due to its poor state of repair and the need for a larger hall, the old hall was sold off in 2015 and the new hall benefited from the revenue raised, receiving an extensive refurbishment.
During the week a huge variety of groups use the hall on a regular basis, including Scouts, Cubs, Playgroups, Brownies, WI, Art, Upholstery Classes, Bridge, Bowling and keep fit, so stealth will be required!
Woodmancote is a pretty village which has had very little development over the years. Many of the old buildings still exist and at least 18 are listed, most are in Bushcombe Lane and Stockwell Lane.
Parking is available in Beverley Gardens or Bushcombe Close but please be mindful of residents. There is parking available at the Village Hall but please be aware this may be busy at times and the gate is locked in the evening.
Cache is not at the published co-ordinates but takes you to a plaque on a tree.
A = The first and the third number of the second year added together.
B = The month on the plaque minus 1
You will need to collect the additional clues at the way points.
