Il balcone del Montecalvo

Il Montecalvo (650 m slm) è posto al centro della alta val d'Orba e ne rappresenta il punto panoramico più totale.
Prende il nome dalla natura spoglia della sua cima sulla quale sono presenti due elementi caratterizzanti come la bella croce di ferro, posta a seguito di una missione della metà del 900 e i resti della piccola caserma militare di avvistamento, costruita prima della seconda guerra mondiale , distrutta poi durante la guerra partigiana. L'edificio era stato eretto sui ruderi di un precedente punto di avvistamento attraverso il quale si trasmettevano nella notte segnali di luce dalla costa ligure sino alla pianura padana nel caso di sbarchi saraceni.

Raggiungerete la vetta con una breve passeggiata.
Una volta trovato il tesoro, godetevi la location tranquilla e la spettacolare vista a 360°.


The Montecalvo (650 m als) is located at the center of the upper Val d'Orba (Orba valley) and is the most complete viewpoint. It takes its name from the bare nature of its summit on which there are two characteristic elements such as the beautiful iron cross, placed as a result of a mission of the mid-900 and the remains of the small military watchtower, built before the Second World War, destroyed then during the partisan war. The building was erected on the ruins of a previous lookout point through which signals of light from the Ligurian coast to the Po valley were transmitted in the night in the case of Saracen landings.

You will reach the summit with a short walk.
