Istorie: a fost construit iniţial ca un turn de apărare în secolul XIV-lea şi mai târziu a fost înconjurat de un inel de apărare şi alte patru turnuri mici. A fost construit de aceiaşi familie nobiliară din Sălaşu de Sus, şi ar fi trebuit să servescă ca refugiu în caz de atacuri. Acces: există un indicator pe drumul principal care vă va ghida paşii pe o cărare pietruită. Acum, cetatea a fost reconstruită cu fonduri europene şi este un loc interesant de vizitat.
[EN] If you continue your trip from Hateg to the Retezat Mountains, in the commune of Sălașu de Sus you will find the Mălăiești Fortress.
History: it was initially a ward tower built in the fourteenth century and was later surrounded by a ring of defense and other four small towers. It was built by the same noble family from Sălașu de Sus, and it would serve as refuge in case of attacks. Access: there is an indicator on the main road that will guide your steps towards a gravelled path. Today, the fortress was rebuilt with EU funds and it’s an interesting place to visit.
