Star Trek first aired over 50 years ago. Created by Gene Roddenberry in 1964, the franchise has spawned numerous television series, films, comics, novels, games, and fan fiction...and now there's a Trek-themed GeoArt series in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.

Many different species have been portrayed within the Star Trek Universe. The makeup and costume staff of the various series and films had their work cut out for them, and their work has been recognized by various award nominations and wins for makeup, hairstyling, and costume design.
