The area of North Loch Eynort has to be one of the most stunning in all the Uists. Although the caches we have been placing are meant to showcase the best of the Uists we would be wrong not to bring cachers back to this stunning location again.
The area is a magnet for bird watchers and when we placed the cache there were no less than four quite nearby.
The cache location itself is a very short walk from Drochaid Inntinneach (GC76M7F) and can be reached from there in perhaps three or four minutes walk. It can also be approached via a separate path and we have provided a waypoint for that. The loop from the car park to Am Bòrd (GC6QWVC), to Drochaid Inntinneach, to this cache and then back by the alternative path takes about 30-40 minutes excluding searching time.
The cache itself is a small black lock and lock container with room for small trackables. It has a log book and writing implement. The FTF has the opportunity to take the small painted stone.
We hope you enjoy this addition to our series around here.
Please note that the west side of South Uist is a haven for ticks. We have been advised that there is a particularly heavy infestation during May/June 2019. Either avoid the area during this time or take special precautions such as those advised here
