In the Northern Hemisphere, where it is the longest day of the year in terms of daylight, the June solstice is also called the summer solstice. In the Southern Hemisphere, on the other hand, it is the shortest day of the year and is known as the winter solstice.
At just over 19 degrees North, the Cayman Islands are only just in the Northern Hemisphere, so the days never stray much past twelve hours of darkness and twelve hours of daylight. On this particular day, the day will be 13:17:38 hours long, and solar midday will be 12:27:28 PM. The length of daylight will then shorten in the approach to the winter solstice.
Interesting Solstice Facts:
Stonehenge - In the UK, this famous prehistoric world heritage site is well known for being aligned to various solar events. An observer standing within the stone circle, looking northeast through the entrance, would see the Sun rise in the approximate direction of the heel stone, and the sun has often been photographed over it.

Machu Picchu - At dawn, when the very first light rises over the distant mountains, it shines through one of the two windows of the Temple of the Sun and illuminates the ceremonial stone within. Although this is the June Solstice, it is actually their winter and the shortest day.

Pyramids at Giza - There are many alignments here, the most dramatic being the equinox, and the solstice sun will rise from the base of the largest pyramid in line with the sword in the constellation of Orion.

The actual solstice will be 11:07 UTC which is 5 AM local time, so I'm not planning an event at that unsociable hour!! Instead, the event will be held at lunchtime 12:00-12:30 PM and if the rain comes, then there is initial shelter in the porch area to the Courts Building only a few metres due South of the given coordinates.
