The cache is a small lock-and-lock hidden just off the Catfish Loop Trail at a unique high point in the southwest corner of Fahnestock. You can reach the Catfish Loop trail from the Moneyhole Mountain trail at the crossing of the two trails north of the junction between the Moneyhole Mountain Access trail and the Moneyhole Mountain trail. There is also a point near Catfish Pond where the two trails approach within about 20 feet and a faint informal trail crosses between the two. You may find a trail map at https://parks.ny.gov/parks/attachments/ClarenceFahnestockTrailMap.pdf The parking and trailhead coordinates are provided for the terminus of the Moneyhole Mountain Access trail on South Highland Rd. Parking is limited to a few cars in two small pull-offs near the trailhead.
