Probably the most significant hardware for the gaming industry, and the first true Nintendo console, the NES sold over 61 million units worldwide in the late 1980s. Its 8-bit system introduced the world to the iconic Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda series. The Mario series became the most successful video game franchise of all time, with its titular character becoming Nintendo’s mascot. The US release of the NES introduced the innovative accessory the Zapper, alongside the release of Duck Hunt.
After my Atari 2600 this was my second video game! And oh boy was I happy when my mom first gifted it to me, let’s just say that I spent a lot of hours in my room lol. I have so many good memories of all my favorite games, how cool they were to us back in those days, not like now that video games get more complicated every year that passes by.
