For a fully immersive experience, come at night time with a torch.
Early Autumn in 2017, Brownhill Creek trail users awoke one morning to find that a small resident no taller than 15 centimetres in height had made their home at the base of a nearby tree. Rumours quickly began to spread throughought the community: Who, or more likely, what was responsible for the appearance of this door? For the following months, trail users began to wake up to the sight of more and more tiny residences lining the trail. One week, a house full of tiny moving boxes was to be found and a few days later, the house was fully furnished and decorated with a bed, a chair, an art easel and canvas, a rug and a painting on the wall. A bustling community of what could only be described as faery folk had settled along the creek and nobody knew where they had come from! The village is ever adapting and you never know what you'll find when you visit.
A little ways away from the village, you'll find your GPS sending you through a gap in the brambles. As you pass through the brambles and around the olive trees, you'll suddenly find yourself immersed in a different world. The gnomes, being a reclusive bunch, have chosen to live deeper in the forest. They are shy, as you'll come to find, but a few will be around to greet you. Have fun and be safe!
