This is our second series of caches around the outskirts of Ottery St Mary.
This is a circular route of about 11 km (7 miles) on very quiet lanes and footpaths (as with most of Devon it can become muddy in winter). There are two steep'ish sections but these are on roads. There are a couple of caches where you may have scale a bank or two but nothing severe.
Some of the caches are under tree cover so coordinates may be tricky in summer.
There are some fantastic views across the otter valley and further onto Dartmoor, plus after 2/3rds of the route you will pass a farm shop where you can get refreshments.
It is recommended to complete this route starting at Cache number one otherwise there will be quiet a bit backtracking.
These Caches are all varied and we have tried to be a bit adventurous on a couple, please be gentle with these. A few cahce's will be hard to open when found , some include puzzles and one may require 'some' of you to take something home to practice. All will be come clear! There are NO magnetic nano's or film containers but you would benefit from tweezers on a couple.
There will be some clues but not to many. Hope you enjoy the route.
PS you will need to bring a torch for one of the caches but I guess most of you will have one on your phones.
This is the one some of you will struggle with, 'Sorry'.
You will need to 'read' the puzzle to obtain the final 3 numbers for the location of the log. If you can not work it out please take one of items home to practice. You are looking for a plastic box in a camouflage bag. When there are only a few items left please send me a message.
The co-ords for the log are N 50 45.*** W 3 14.193, you will require the 3 numbers from the puzzle. (The 3 numbers will add up to 14)
If you have worked out the Co-ords you have done the hard work so we dont mind giving you a clue for the log location:- In base of tree, a small tube with camouflage tape, on higher side of path
