Geocache Description:

Park Creek Falls is a man-made waterfall at the northeast end of Lake Jenkinson.  It is roughly a 33 foot drop into a beautiful pool which then flows into Lake Jenkinson.  The waterfall is part of  the El Dorado Irrigation District and at times during the year you will arrive to find no water flowing over the falls.

You can reach the falls by one of two ways:

1. Park near the dam ($5 daily use fee required) and hike about 4 miles to reach the falls or:

2.  Go through the main entrance of Sly Park ($13 daily use fee or $10 for seniors) and drive to the east end of the lake. Park at the Hazel Meadow parking lot and it is about a mile to reach the falls.

The cache is NOT located at the falls, but it is in the area.  Please do NOT attempt reaching the cache from the top of the falls as the "trail" is very steep and slippery.  Any attempt could result in a fine from park officials as they do not want anyone climbing  the hill to reach a cache, thereby risking injury and also causing erosion to the hillside. Stay away and stay safe!

There is a small trail west of the top of the waterfall that will lead you to the cache area in a safe manner. You can also find the small trail if you walk about 120 south of the bridge that crosses Park Creek.
