This cache was placed in celebration of the J of pjhunter’s graduation from NMSU May 2018.
These trails are wonderful, beautiful and frustrating trails. When J first started hiking he attempted to hike to the Cave but always ended up confused. One winter day he came to this intersection and turned around. Later in the month it was revealed that it is possible to drive to Fort Stanton cave! He drove, parked and explored the area hiking up the road; he then came to the “a ha” moment that when he turned around previously he was only 0.2 mile from the GOAL.
J also followed a similar path, confusing and slightly windy, to his college degree. He studied Math, Education and HRTM before receiving an Associate Degree in University Studies from ENMU-Ruidoso. While attending school he worked as the kitchen manager of the Flying J Chuckwagon in Alto; it is here that he discovered his true passion for restaurant management. In 2016 he re-enrolled at NMSU to pursue his degree in HRTM…… when he entered the advisor’s office he was unsure of the path…. When he left the session, he was relieved to know that he was very close to the GOAL (only 2 years)
