If you're starting the series from this direction, or have chosen to follow the field edge from number 2, you will need to duck under some barbed wire to get to GZ [UPDATE, APRIL 2019: the barbed wire has recently been removed] (there is a gap in the fence at N55 51.565 W002 05.683). Here you will find an old stone bridge crossing the Nettley Burn (don't worry, this appears to be a misnomer!) If continuing on in this direction to the old Eyemouth Viaduct (and GC7NWCQ) then follow the south west side of the burn down to the Eye Water and then turn left at the wooden fence (N55 51.622 W002 05.873). You can return to number 2 following the path north along the Eye Water.
If you are finishing your walk here, return to the field edge and continue around to where you join the cycle path into Eyemouth at N55 51.604 W002 05.532.
