This cache will take you to a historical and touristic hot spot in the heart of old Kuala Lumpur.
The cache derives its name from the "River of Life", a part of the river beautification project, which includes an actual "River of Life" with fish swimming around in it. You will find it when you look over the fence alongside the river.
You will find yourself in the back yard of the iconic Sultan Abdul Ahmed Shah building. Looking across the Gombak River, very near the confluence with the Klang River, you will see the silhouette of the famous Masjid Jamek (Jamek Mosque). In the far distance the outlines of Menara Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur Tower), the famous Petronas twin Towers and Merdeka 118 can be spotted.

Life by the rivers
There was a time when the banks of the Klang and Gombal rivers were fronted by timber structures with tin ingots or supplies lumbered between the river trading posts. The two rivers that meet in the heart of Kuala Lumpur were where the locals once bathed, dhobies (washermen) washed laundry, and buffaloes wallowed. Crocodiles were also sunning on the banks, prompting the British Administration to offer rewards to capture these deadly reptiles - dead or alive. The capture of a crocodile measuring 4.6 metres (15 feet) would bag one $15.00 Straits Dollars in 1912.
The Klang and Gombak Rivers have also witnessed a dark side of Kuala Lumpur during its early growth. Reports are known of those who ended their lives by jumping off bridges into the rivers, which were dangerously deeper and rockier then, not to mention crawling with crocodiles, when the pressures of urban life or gambling became too much to bear.
