This cache is located close to the Saltersford Waterworks and there are two main ways of getting to it. The first is via the steps about halfway up the hill on South Parade (B1174) if you'd prefer a little longer walk, though the path can get quite overgrown. The other more simple way is to start at the stile about two thirds of the way down the lane to the waterworks, where parking along the side of the lane or in the small layby is easy. Either way will lead to the public footpath with fields either side separated by a hawthorn hedgerow. There are gaps of varying size in the hedgerow that will allow passage into the field on the other side which you should be able to walk around or across with ease down to the location of the little friendly cache.
I would say that tweezers or a similar tool is essential in order to remove and sign the log, at least until the paper keeps it's shape well enough to slide in and out easier.
