This geocache is placed with permission by the Park Manager of Fairy Stone State Park. It is one of the six original Virginia State Parks opening June 15, 1936. With 4,741 acres and 168 acre lake adjoining the Philpott Reservoir, Fairy Stone State Park is a great location for swimming, fishing, hiking, picnics, camping and wildlife viewing. Fairy Stone State Park is located at 967 Fairystone Lake Drive, Stuart, Virginia. There is a fee for park entry.
Racky loves a good picnic. In fact, any time he can get away to Fairy Stone State Park, he brings his picnic basket filled with all kinds of good things to eat. He also loves a dip in the part of the beach designated for swimming to cool off, especially in the hot summer months. After a visit to the lake to cool off, he will return to the picnic area to enjoy what he packed in his basket to eat and have something cold to drink. His family often will accompany him for the swimming and sharing a meal together.
Racky loves to explore while he is at Fairy Stone State Park also. Sometimes he comes across familiar things, sometimes things that are a surprise. Hummmmm, wonder what it could be?
