During the Second World War,Arnold's Cove hosted the American Servicemen. The War Path trail,a 1 kilometer hike overlooking Placentia Bay,traces their footsteps as they patrolled the shoreline on the lookout for enemies in the bay.. This is a nice lookout point of the cove. Sometimes an Oil Tanker is anchored not too far from this spot waiting its turn to go to the Oil refinery.
