Geocache Description:

As you walk over to Ground Zero you may see the game in action. This is Regina's newest cricket pitch. The walking path stops and you will need to walk across the grass. Be careful not to step on Jiminy.

In original story of Pinochio (1883), the cricket was killed when the puppet became angry at the cricket and threw a mallet at it. Killing the poor cricket. Disney gave it the name Jiminy.

Cricket the game from the English, is played world wide. The cricket field has a pitch area in the center. Two strikers (batters) stand one at each wicket, which are the 3 stumps (poles) with two bails resting on top of the stumps. The bowler (pitcher) is trying to get the batter dismissed (out). The batter who the ball is being thrown towards is the striker. The other batter standing near the bowler is the non striker. He is there to run when the ball is hit. Both batters run to the opposite wicket to score runs.

The striker uses the bat to prevent the bowler from hitting the wicket with his ball. A striker is dismissed when the ball hits the wicket and dislodges a bails, the striker blocks the ball with his body instead of using the bat or when the hit ball is caught by the outfield. The team remains infield, batting, until 10 of 11 team players have been dismissed (struck out). Then the opposite team gets to bat.

Scores are made when the ball is hit passed the outfield boundary or the two strikers have made runs to the opposite wicket. The game duration is of one or two innings
