Placed as my contribution to geocaching.com Hidden Creatures geocache hunt June 27 through July 25 2018, where geocachers can earn up to 13 mythical creature souvenirs by finding geocaches and attending events.
This cache is for the Sphinx souvenir awarded after finding 15 geocaches and earning 15 points.
The sphinx is a mythical creature with the head of a human and the body of a lion. In the myth the Sphinx is treacherous and merciless. Those who cannot answer its riddle are killed and eaten.
The geocache is not at the given coordinates, but there is a number of creatures hiding there.
To find the cache work out this simple riddle... as asked by the Sphinx of all passersby:
"What is that which in the morning goeth upon A-feet; upon B-feet in the afternoon;
and upon C in the evening?"
